As you know, I have devoted my career, over 25 years, to helping people whose lives have been forever altered by the carelessness of others.
I have never told my friends and clients how to vote, and do not intend to do so now. However, the outcome of the election on November 2nd is important and bears upon the ability of lawyers like me to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we represent.
I have a personal relationships with Roy Barnes and I strongly support a second candidate - who shares my commitment to justice and the preservation of the jury system - Ken Hodges.
I ask you to give them your favorable consideration when you cast your ballot.
The jury system and the right to trial by jury must be preserved in order to ensure the people, not politicians and interest groups, remain in control.
Roy Barnes has publicly declared that people who can be trusted to choose their elected officials at the ballot box, should be trusted to decide the outcome of important matters in the jury box.
Knowing Roy over the years, I have gained respect and admiration for his professionalism and dedication to what is right. That respect and admiration has continued to grow throughout the years of his service to the public.
Ken Hodges served for many years as District Attorney for the Dougherty Circuit putting numerous criminals behind bars. Ken has the experience, knowledge and ability to serve this state as a fine Attorney General.
Thank you for your consideration.
With kindest regards and best wishes, I am
Sincerely yours,
Howard E. Spiva
