Miguel Cossio grew up in Madison, Georgia. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 2003 and the Georgia State University College of Law in 2007. While at the Georgia State College of Law, Mr. Cossio served as vice-president and then president of the Oglethorpe Legal Society. He also worked with the federal public defenders’ office with the Northern District of Georgia through an externship program.

Mr. Cossio has been a member of the State Bar of Georgia since 2007. He is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia, and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Georgia.

Mr. Cossio is a member of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, the Savannah Bar Association, the Savannah Trial Lawyers Association, and the Savannah Chapter of the Young Lawyers’ Division (YLD). Over the past three years Mr. Cossio has served as chairman for the YLD’s Guardian Ad Litem charity golf tournament that raises money to provide legal representation for children involved in civil disputes.

Attorney Cossio’s experience includes a wide range of civil litigation ranging from contract disputes to professional malpractice claims. His practice areas include general civil trial practice, personal injury, product liability, assault and excessive force, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, premise liability, municipal liability, property damage claims, nursing home negligence, and medical malpractice.
