Mike Williams is a legal assistant at Spiva Law Group. He graduated with a B.S. in geology at the age of 20 in 2011 from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Fla. Presently, he is attending Southern New Hampshire University online for a second B.S. degree in environmental science with a focus on Geographic Information Systems. He expects to graduate in June 2018.
Mike started working at Spiva Law Group as the front desk coordinator with no prior law experience in October 2016. After less than a year, he moved up to legal assistant. Some of his previous background is in the service industry.
Working in high-end restaurants and as a front desk supervisor/manager of luxury hotels in Portland, Ore., and Austin, Texas, made the transition to working in a legal office smooth and easy for Mike. He strives for client satisfaction with each and every document he creates, to each adjuster he contacts, and the list goes on.
You may be asking yourself: Why is Mike working at a personal injury law firm with science degrees? Plainly, he is working on his second degree in order to go to graduate school for hydrogeology and GIS. However, working at Spiva Law Group has Mike interested in pursuing an environmental law degree. (Yes, another degree. Mike would go to school as a career if he could!) Who knows where this experience will take Mike. He is along for the ride as his interests evolve with the skills he obtains.
